BVR was the architect and engineer of record for a 220,000 sf retrofit of a data communication facility that required a complete electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC overhaul of its core infrastructure systems. This 60 years old Tier 3 Data and Communication facility is the core operations of  the Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency for the west coast and operates on a 24/7 basis with a mandated “Zero Failure of Performance” standard. BVR provided all of the concept designs, engineering, work plans, master planning, demolition and retrofit plans, seismic engineering, fire protection plans, electrical transmission and system protection strategies. A new 2MW emergency generator, switch gear, 12.47 V/480/208V Unit Substation, distribution panels, and auxiliary equipment were designed and installed along with major repairs to the HVAC ventilation fans. The project was completed successfully over multiple phases during a five year time frame.
