BVR was tasked to assess an entire electrical system that supports one of the largest communication networks for the DoD on the west coast, located over 23,000 acres and 5 million sf of mission critical built space. Much of the equipment and infrastructure was of an obsolete World War II vintage and suffered from power outages. Electrical systems were often unusable for digital formats. BVR performed immediate need corrections which surfaced systemic issues and put into play a master plan. Existing equipment was inventoried, mission critical equipment requirements were identified and a solution criteria was engineered that satisfied current and projected needs for each of the mission operating systems on base. The resultant report became the “Requirements Document” and planning tool for the entire campus.
